Fiji Regime aligns itself with Pyonyang

Note to Australia and New Zealand. Don't let the illegal and treasonous military regime's desperate grab for your money (vociferously cheered on by their hoochies no less) to finance their incredible credibility-deficit sham of a constitution and elections fool you.

In case you missed it, these are the very same terrorist thugs that promised you and 15 other Pacific leaders that they would hold elections in 2009 and boldly back-tracked feigning 'peer pressure' (read: lied).

It appears you lot have become victim, yet again, to their latest shaft fest. What with taking your money on one hand, and ganging up with Pyongyang--yes that beacon of light in the world of nukes and human rights--in the very next breath.

North Korea develops links

A delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) arrived yesterday to explore areas of mutual interest and development co-operation with Fiji. 

The Democratic People’s Republic is commonly known as North Korea and has its capital as Pyongyang. 

The three-member delegation is headed by Kim Myong Gil, director-general of Asia and Oceanic Countries at the DPRK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Today they will pay a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola and meet Permanent Secretary, Saipora Mataikabara. 

Ratu Inoke said Fiji had continued its efforts to maintain good relations with the international community in line with Pillar 11 of the Peoples Charter on ‘Enhancing Global Integration and International Co-operation.’ 

“This commitment is exemplified in the Government of Fiji’s acceptance of the visit by DPRK,” Ratu Inoke said. 

“Both countries are members of the United Nations (UN) and the Non-Aligned Movement. 

“As such, it is important for us to respect each other as a global citizen and a member of the international community. 

“We are sovereign countries and equal under the UN Charter.” 

Ratu Inoke said that it is important for Fiji to engage with every country, big or small, based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity with full respect for the fundamental principles of international law. 

Fiji established diplomatic relations with DPRK on 14th April 1975. 

From 1987 – 2001, Fiji severed formal diplomatic relations with DPRK but resumed full ties in 2002. 

The delegation will also be discussing a number of issues, including the outcomes of the Ministerial Meeting of the Co-ordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement, which has just recently concluded last month in the City of Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. 

The North Koreans will leave the country on Friday.
