Qarase Guilty - Granted Bail

Guilty all counts.
Justice Priyantha Fernando has concurred with the three assessors that Laisenia Qarase is guilty of six counts of abuse of office and three counts of discharging his duty with respect to property in which he has a private interest.
Qarase had a blank stare, sitting in the dock as Justice Fernando handed down his judgement in a packed court room.
His lawyer Tupou Draunidalo then applied for bail pending sentencing.
Qarase has been granted bail until sentencing.
